Beach Promenade

The sweeping tiled promenade fronting the beach is easily one of the best on the coast and is popular with joggers, strollers and dog walkers. The promenade forms part of the coastal walkway that goes all the way to Marbella and is dotted with chiringuitos, bars, restaurants and exercise machines.

Activities

Locally, San Pedro offers several options for sporting activities: tennis and paddle courts, a number of gyms, two 18-hole golf courses and a cable wakeboarding centre in the adjacent suburb of Guadalmina. The golf courses of Aloha, Las Brisas, Los Naranjos y La Quinta are just minutes away. The Ronda road offers experienced cyclists a challenging but beautiful ride. If you wish to venture further afield, San Pedro has superb access to many popular destinations: 2 hours to the renowned Sierra Nevada ski resort with 118 km of runs open from November-April; 1 hour to Tarifa, the European kite surfing Mecca, close to which you can explore white villages nestled in the mountains; 1 hour to Gibraltar; 1 hour to Ronda.

San Pedro itself boasts several supermarkets, with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables as well as fish shops, butchers, and also a weekly outdoor market.

For further shopping and entertainment options, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia, and Estepona are all a short drive away. Apart from the exclusive boutique shops around the marina at Puerto Banus, there is the well-loved Spanish department store, El Corte Ingles and the Marina Banus shopping centre. Just outside Marbella is the la Cañada Shopping Centre with over 200 stores (fashion and accessories, electronic, furniture, supermarket, DIY...), restaurants, a multiplex cinema, etc.

Climate

Crouched in the foothills of Serrania de Ronda and protected by the Sierra Blanca mountain range, San Pedro enjoys the same balmy microclimate as Marbella and Nueva Andalucia.
